My #nostr app moved one step forward today. It’s still clunky, but still progress is progress.

I can now pull data from a relay, but I am not sure how to filter. I can filter by pubkey, which is a good first step, but I would like to do more.

Can someone point me to some documentation on filtering? I can’t find it.

your filter subscription request can filter on a date range (since, until), specify max to return (limit), filter by the type of event (kind list), and also for tags and event references

Thanks. That’s helpful.

Does this mean I will need to do date sorting locally? Or will specifying max to return limit usually pull events in from newest to oldest?

its usually newest to oldest. i still sort if im dependent on that
