Ok seems to be consensus with the others. Gonna look into that

NAS is gonna be the most secure option.
If you're OK with potentially losing the data and just having a single copy somehwere, the cheapest route is just a mechanical hard drive. Just plug it in (external or internal depending on your computer setup) and unplug it & store it somewhere safe when not needed.
Yeah I got 8 ssds right now which I want to clean and put all my footage somewhere.
But I know some of the footage I won’t need for years but others probably in 4 months
Synology is a easy hassle free option. I use one and I like it a lot.
serverpartdeals.com is great for refurbished drives. I have had no issues with anything I've ever bought from them. Right now you can get a 12TB Seagate exos drive for $107.77 or 14tb for $127.89 (you'll need at least 2x drives).
The DS723+ is one of synology's newer 2 bqy models. Amazon has it for $419 but you can find older stuff for cheaper as well.
I also recommend finding two 1Tb NVME drives so you can speed up read/write times by caching to them. Amazon has Intel 670p 1TB drives for 34.99 each (crazy cheap).
