Ah, they run it on a Ubuntu Server machine. I'm not there just yet in my journey xD

I'd still like to use the computer it for other light stuff, and it's an old laptop anyway so I can't really use it as a server for my home network. That's something I was looking into recently, but I don't have time right now (and sats are at discount, so...)

BTW this last hour I have been trying to get rid of Snap in Ubuntu 22.04, and it's basically impossible, so I'm going to install something light and familiar that is Snap-free too: good old Mint.

Wait a second though... I think I tried installing it on Mint too last year and had issues with the flatpak install now that I think about it... 🤦🏻‍♂️

And IIRC, Umbrel didn't allow for the datadir to be on an external SSD.

Oof that’s brutal. You could maybe run a light / pruned node without external SSD? But that kinda defeats the purpose of running a node haha

I’m not too sure then with laptop setup, but I’ll let you know if I come across any resources when I get some time to mess around with reconfiguring my node

Thanks for at least confirming that it’s not just me having problems with snap haha
