Halp.

What's causing my following list to get nuked?

This is now the second time it's happened. Was following about ~200 yesterday, now it's 1.

Are you removing relays?

Nope. At least not manually, maybe a client is?

Apparently, bug can happen when you switch between nostr clients.

Example: I use snort and Amethyst, but when Iogged in to Iris, accounts I follow got nuked. Anyway, Iris has a nice feature to follow all accounts, others Nostriches are following.

Makes it easy to recover!

Thanks, yeah I'm thinking that may be it. Had a few clients open simultaneously.

Iris definitely saved my bacon with the follow-all function. It's not exactly the same list I had before, but close enough since the network is still relatively small.

Any idea where that bug exists? Is it a collision issue with relay software?

I think, Iris has a filter to show you only notes from people you know, or someone in your network knows. Actually, a nice Spam filter! Therefore, the profile follower numbers can be different to other clients. But it seems like, this feature can cause trouble, when you switch the client and come back to #[5] ?

When you use multiple nostr clients this can happen. Happened to me too.

I would recommend using nostrgram. That client keeps a follow history of your profile so when you lose your follows you can restore them with one click.

Ooo, that does sound useful. It almost incentives me to use multiple clie... Oh shit. 😂

My suspicion is one of the clients drop follows that don't have a relay associated in their follow tag. But haven't figured out which client that is. Did you add a follower on a different client than the one yesterday?

I had predominantly been using Amethyst, but moving more and more towards Iris as of late. I followed one new person today via Iris and that's when I noticed my follow feed was essentially empty, and only displaying events from that one person. That's when I found the issue, just one single follower.
