Inspired by a recent interview of Manova, I have started looking more closely at the history and status of #technocracy. Will probably do a (compact) blog post on that matter in some time.

In view of recent political discussions, does that map look familiar? 👀 (source: https://brilliantmaps.com/the-technate-of-america)

Hmmm Club of Rome lässt grüßen?

"Along with these proposed steps, Scott wrote that the territory of the United States must be expanded in order to defend it properly."

Warum wundert mich das jetzt nicht? 😆

"The government of the United States should take immediate action to acquire these territories and others, such as Greenland and the Galapagos Islands. The acquisition of these territories should be a mandatory part of the program of Continental defense for immediate achievement – either by purchase, negotiation, or the force of arms.” (P. 12.)"

Wundert mich auch nicht. 🤣

🤗🍀

Looking forward for your review of technocracy.

I have underestimated how deep that rabbit hole goes 😅

Can you maby give a brief followup? What is Technocracy about, what it has to do with the map and so? I was sad to see the map only because of the idea of yet another empire that wants to grow in size. But I do not yet know more about the term Technocracy.

I can recommend this blog post: https://brilliantmaps.com/the-technate-of-america. It briefly touches on the topic and as with any online source, I would take it with a grain of salt.

Thank you.

I clicked through wikipedia of Technocracy, Scientocracy and Evidence-based policy. I think I would most favor a democratic system. And figure out ways, to focus on evidence-based facts. So going on with the direct democracy we already have in Switzerland and start grassroot initiatives, which focus strongly on evidence-based policy.

Since I am very strongly defending direct democracy. Since I feel human dignity and personal freedom needs to be the base of a good society. And I do not see any system that is not direct democratic, which could hold to this standard. And when everyone can speak up, we make sure no minority has to suffer in silence.

Only on top of this base I see an opportunity to create evidence-based policy making. And to me it is totally clear, that this is a culture that needs to emerge, which will not grow within a decade probably. This might take centuries. But even when the path to it is hard, I would still bet, that a direct democracy, where every citizen can directly participate in creating and stopping laws at every level, together with a society that participates evidence-based discussions is the most stable form of governance, which produces the highest level of happy people in the long term.
