subscribe event / request for relays to vend you their information stored about that npub
how they store: simple answer, relays can store how ever they want; however i'm assuming they are storing it in a way for efficient lookups on npub key basis

Ah so the relay is saving this. I figured it had to be the relays just wasn’t sure of the mechanism, sounds like on a subscribe from a new client it can grab it.
