#[0] JRPGs do tend to be retarded when it comes to ages, acting like people in their 30s are Old is very much something I've repeatedly encountered before. A character like Lora being revealed to be 27 years old was highly unusual and refreshing in that context.

However, I can't really remember a game botching *height* that badly before, it'd be like if Xenoblade 2 listed Nia and Morag as both being the same height.

#[0] #[1] Auron has been through some serious shit tho (including some Spoilerific events), so I can actually somewhat defend that one.

I think someone like Raven from Tales of Vesperia, who's also 35, and straight up the subject of various Old Man jokes, is a more egregious example.

There's also Phoenix Wright, who by the time he's 35 is suffering from some pretty serious back problems, though I dunno if that's an implicit Old Man gag or just a commentary on him having a sedentary lifestyle.

I always feel like JRPGs are obsessed with making the main cast high school to early college age to relate to that younger demographic. So they age all the old people down as well.

I always felt like the cast of FF7 could have aged up a bit. Barret is in his 30s though and that always seemed like a good fit to me.
