Musk and his buddies are trying to reverse the work from home movement.
I don’t like it.

Blame the cities that gave tax breaks to corps to have their workforce shop in those cities. Now they are threatening to void the tax breaks and corps are scrambling to get everyone back. It is all publicly available info showing how much each corp gets in breaks. Elon is a red herring in this situation 🐶🐾🫡
Interesting. But doesn’t excuse those execs from spewing bullshit.
Cogs in a machine.
Do you have any links as examples of the tax breaks corps are getting?
I can’t find the page that had list of corps and what they get, but this article states some more info! 🐶🐾🫡

They are angry and frustrated that work at homes are exposed to alternative news. They want people to stop listening to podcasts, and work at work and then go home and just tangentially listen to a snippet of corporate news before crashing in bed for the night. We’ve always been a remote first company at nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch. And I’ve been working from home for over a decade.

I’ve been working remotely for 15 years; there’s a learning curve but it can be way more productive than going to an office
Nowadays is SO easy!
I think it depends on your occupation.
In my work I have to gather a lot of information from commercial people - what is happening in the our market, how do customers react to certain things etc. They are much more willing to share these insights face-to-face than via screen or email.
So in my case balance is key - I speak to people f2f, but process the information and do the analytics by myself. And the 2nd part is better done remotely.
I love working from home but the one thing I like about the office is the social aspect. That’s something I’d guess I would miss in a full remote job. What’s your experience with this?
My opinion is that those who are less comfortable with WFH should have the option to come in or just work for companies that also value on site work.
i’d also add working from home has pushed me to build a social circle outside of my “job,” which i’ve found to be healthier overall.
coworking spaces, meet-ups, etc help a lot

That’s because he wants you to work from home in the office 🦦 #24/7
We help companies adopt location independence as a resilience strategy in some of our work.
One of the things we run up against repeatedly is the lack of digital literacy and fluency in senior managment, which, as a result wants to mentor and work in-person mostly. (See pic. Data source here http://www.wfhresearch.com/)
The ability to “speak digital” and “work out loud” in digital environments is a non-negotiable skill if you are going to work from anywhere.
The big RTO (return to office) push is mostly coming from this age group.
