I wonder if you can appease both the left and right in the UK if you rebrandwd stricter migration controls as "The Japanese Model".

You could rebrand it as "model from every nonwestern country", really. It's a very colonial mindset, where you import people from poorer countries, to perform menial, physically difficult, dull, or otherwise unpleasant work.
Like cleaning toilets, caring for the frail, driving trucks, or software development. 😂
