I want to lock down my internet use at home. A vpn is great, but I want devices to automatically connect to a secure network with VPN always on.

Thinking about buying a dd-wrt compatible WiFi router, and setting up my vpn directly on that instead of using software on each device to connect.

What am I missing? Is this a good approach?

My next steps will likely be getting a used pixel and installing Calaxy or another privacy os on it, and experimenting with using that privacy phone as my daily driver.

I really like the Linux phones like the pine phone or Purism Librem 5, but those just don’t seem quite ready to be a daily driver.

Cannot give advise regarding the VPN but can recommend GrapheneOS absolutely!

Yes, 100% on GrapheneOS. Which Pixel are you using?

Our choice for Phi Daisy is still Pixel 6. Price is unbeatable. For cost of 1 iPhone, Claim 4 Phi Daisies.
