He sought refuge in Sweden, but not only did Sweden fail to protect him, it actively tormented him with the threat of deportation to Iraq, where he faced an execution sentence.

Thought Sweden was a socialist utopia?
It has many socialist characteristics in many ways, but there is no tax on gifts, inheritance, wealth and on real estate and the beurocracy is quite well functioning for companies. So it’s a mixed bag. And definitely not a utopia
literally the only reason why they were allowed to pass social democratic reforms is because its a very ethnically homogeneous country so they couldnt tighten the screws on minorities like how most economies could manage in the rest of europe & the US.
