I haven't read lowereys book, but a lot of people were hoping it would be strategic first mover to make btc legal and dump all the debt money intoitx to get reserves before anyone else figures it out.

Don't think outlaw. Think restrictions and licensing on their ownership and movement. Global shipping implications and everything else that comes with it. They definitely intend to try and control the hash power.

It doesn't matter, the power will follow the hash and hash will chase power. If you restrict any inputs the difficulty will balance available hash capacity to maintain the network. Lots of SATs to he he knows where to build mines and arbitrage the regulators every way.
