The Syrian government appears to be calling Israel’s “bluff” following yesterday’s statement in which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to launch a military operation in the city of Jaramana, near the capital of Damascus, due to what it claimed was Syrian security forces targeting the Druze people in the city, something which Druze militias and groups have denied. Syrian military and security personnel flying the Druze flag entered the city in force earlier today, taking control of sites around Jaramana, with both the Druze and Christian populous celebrating their arrival in the streets. Syrian forces as well as Druze militias have stated that they will find those responsible for recent unrest and attacks on security forces in the city.
