Few! Fairly good book on Clausewitz is "Battling to the End" written by Rene Girard.
The Natural Law was cited in the US Declaration of Independence - "all men are created equal". That by definition means that any form of involuntary hierarchy defies human rights.
Some claim that government is "with the consent of the governed", but I don't recall seeing any consent forms in any country, especially the USA.
