How many relays are optimal for the average user? Why is that number the best and how does the inbox/outbox model fit into that calculation?

All of it! As a newbie myself it is such a mystery as to what relays do what ——and for whom ??? and how to get on or off of this or that relay.

Further each app in the #Nostr ecosystem treats their dashboard information slightly different but all are obscure and not explicit to me, as a user as to what is going on with the relays and why I should care!

How do you tell the difference

Husband and I were just talking about this. He was descrbing it using the neighbors and talking to one of them, then they talk to everyone and some other things and stuff 😂🤷‍♀️... BUT I think I have a better idea of how it all works as a non-techie person.

I don’t know what the purpose of a relay is and why they differ apart from paid and unpaid 🤷‍♂️

1. Are all relays general purpose or are some relays for specific use cases?

2. Do some relays handle certain note types (kinds) and not others? How would I know?

3. As a developer should a custom relay be built for some things? (previous questions might answer this)
