I'm not convinced. Traditionally overall status is derived from the position of the man while a woman's community status is not tied to sexiness, where modesty might even increase it.

A modest women in a traditional society would never be without a mate, and the only mate she'd attract would have a particular mating strategy that would benefit her greatly.

An unmodest woman might benefit from attracting short term mates in a society with a different r/K life strategy model though.
