Well, the fact that the funds really are just rotting away is proof of the real problem: hard to find places and ways to spend the money, without just buying everyone a gold toilet seat or consumer price inflation shooting through the roof.
Inflation in the EU never got as bad as in the USA because most of the promised money was never spent, since it went into these funds, instead of being sent out as stimmy checks.
