i think one of the things that sets the Nordic countries apart from the Anglosphere is that you can't hide stuff behind fanciful language here. i mean, you can, but the more fanciful it gets, the more foreign it comes across as, and the more distrust there is of it.
the vikings had no polite words for a penis or a vagina.
penis was "kuk" and vagina was "fitta" and no other words existed, so you either said it or you didn't. these words aren't considered polite these days but that's all the vikings had.
English masks itself more. hides behind veiled words. Nordic countries get a bit more real.
