I'm currently on the island of Madeira.
We booked a car for our 11 Day Trip.
I would definitely rent a car just to explore the island. We made a roundtrip yesterday, it took us 6 hours but we stopped at alot of beautiful places and avoided any highways.
We're planning to do just this! Any highlights?
I don't know if you're into hiking but there are some beautiful hiking trails. You should check out Fanal Forest, Levada das 25 Fontes (go all the way down to the big Waterfall, it's worth it), Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço, Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo.
