#GitHub has changed how the default feed works, i. e. it does not work anymore & is utterly broken. Usually, I don't care about such changes, but in the case of #GitHub I follow a lot of valuable people through their accounts & already discovered a lot of new & interesting stuff, this way.

Now, this is not possible anymore, because the new feed basically says "fuck you" & you cannot do or see shit anymore. My feed is pretty much almost empty. All important information is gone.

It's also significant to point out, that when you try to filter the feed, it says it shows you stuff from "people", rather than "people you follow" which is extremely telling & seems like they want to harassingly force in #SocialMedia #YouAreTheProduct #Exploitation #Algorithm into #GitHub, as #Google already did with #YouTube, so many years ago.

We never wanted #YouTube to be another #SocialMedia #Shithole. The same accounts for #GitHub, even more so.

At least, as a poor man's temporary workaround, you can bookmark the legacy feed & manually visit it, for now, until they remove that one, as well.

They "fixed" some minor issues with the crappy #GitHubFeed now, but they did not fix the feed itself, i. e. they didn't throw it in the bin, yet.

Even the "fixed" view still is missing a lot of valuable information, while at the same time showing me literally random accounts on #GitHub doing random stuff I do not care about the slightest bit.

Just use one of these scripts, for now!

Tested the first one & it works great.

Did not test the second one, but others did.

I'd argue that's not a "fix" but a "patch" to the actual #github policy, which no code will eventually be able to fix. A real "solution" would be to just move off GitHub. To also move your social graph you'd need something like 'git-over-nostr' hopefully not that far away now.
