For what its worth I generally use Seth for privacy's nodes if I don't have any other way to connect to mine.

That’s what I was leaning toward. Is there any way to evaluate if a particular node is being surveilled or compromised in some way? I’d assume that governments would be more intent on watching privacy advocates than random people, but the tradeoff is that someone like Seth would know which precautions to take up-front.

Trying to do this in a privacy maximizing way (within certain limitations), so I appreciate the feedback!

imho any in the limited sparrow list of public servers is fine (vpn preferred). still a risk, but not like things were with electrum for desktop whose server list had a scattering of chain analysis honeypots.
