Musk is right to optimize the Twitter product. Twitter is right about commercial charges and Blue Label charges for corporate users. The value of Twitter's user traffic is worth the money that users pay.

6 months ago I would fully agree with this statement, the only context this is missing is the advent of nostr. Now we have an open social backend, which is interoperable with any client. This is a game changer. Using twitters large network as a selling point is like saying, the traditional phones don’t need to worry because smart phones only make about 5% of the market share, in 2005.

I also don’t have anything against musk, he is a great, though sometimes questionable guy, he just helmed a dying company at a very wrong time.

You understand social media in a Bitcoin way of thinking. It will take 10 years for the Nostr product to become popular. These 10 years need a lot of money to support.

Nostr, for this product to become popular, it must require influential users to settle in and use it. Use by groups of public figures. So far, the user is only used by the cryptocurrency crowd. Qualified and excellent social media should be used by people from all walks of life.

Agreed, but why do you think that it will not happen? They are not here today doesn’t mean they’ll not be here tomorrow right?

If your argument is that nostr has to prove itself and it doesn’t compete with Twitter now, then the answer to it is yes Ofcourse.

My argument is that nostr is a breakthrough in open platforms. Ofcourse it isn’t beating Twitter right now, big networks take time dismantle. But nostr has proved itself to be an effective alternative, at least it has done it for me and a lot of people in my list.

And yes it’s nieche, but guess what, so was Twitter and so was Instagram, I’m already seeing a lot of people who were not necessarily “bitcoin crowd” on here and learning about it.

I think your take is a bit too pessimistic, but I’m glad I heard it, it’s always good to know the other side.

Nostr is more like a cryptocurrency product industry media. Not social media for the masses. Twitter is social media for the masses. This is the difference between the two social software.

In China,among so many social software, only Twitter can do it. Users must use Twitter even if they risk going to jail. Even when users were beaten by police in prison for using Twitter, they continued to use Twitter after they got out. That's the beauty of the Twitter product.😄🤭
