Humans have created all sorts of methods for moving around the globe… add in some wars and destruction of towns and cities, some economic turbulence, despotic regimes and changes in climate, it’s to be expected that migrants will move around seeking better places to live.

History is peppered with psychopaths. Look at the english in the 17th century pretty much stealing every shiny object from around the world regardless of who owned it.

Migration is going to happen and if you can’t get your head round it, I don’t see your stress levels ever dropping tbh. Blaming economic conditions on migrants is a waste of time, especially if you’re of a migrant population. Irony is a thing you know.

Personally I can’t wait to move away from the shitty island I live on. However, I’m not intending on a killing spree to get a new place so relax and enjoys yourselves. 🎉

I expect some tension wherever I end up, that’s to be expected but I’ll look for somewhere with a more relaxed attitude to new people.

It’s funny reading about European settlers of other lands worrying about migrants displacing them, especially when no violence is involved.

I’d say one of the biggest issues with housing is houses becoming investment vehicles rather than a place to chill and do your thing.

Mass migration is always about violence.

Which historical mass migrations have not been motivated by violence, as the push or the pull?

None that I’m particularly are of but then it depends what scale you put on mass?

If it’s people going through some sort of nation’s immigration system then the violence tends to be localised/individualised.

I’m not talking about military invasions, just normal movements of people, people travelling to work etc.

Your assumption is that they are just average people & not fighters... Might want to notice who is not in evidence.

Those pushing it aren't simply misguided, they are those actively opposed to nation states existence.
