Zaps from your own node feel fantastic, but Zaps TO your own node feel even better. It's almost time for me to ditch Alby. They're great, but I'm just the type of Bitcoiner that wants to be sovereign in as much of my technology stack as possible.

pay@derekross.me / derek@rosscitadel.com has been working fine for a week, I just need to make the switch and decide on which address to use.

I use nostdress for this.

Probably already known by many

It's a nice solution. I couldn't get nostdress to work with my old node, but I'm fairly certain I could now. I just went with another solution thoufh.

nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 do you think you could break this down for us plebs?

Former.

Action, name based domain, appropriate TLD.

Good job 🤙

Agree

I’ve been trying to find a way to do exactly this!

Bitcoin+LND+LNbits+LNURLp extension+nginx reverse proxy+Cloudflare.

Bitcoin+LND+BTCPayServer+haproxy/nginx is enough for this to work

I used to use BTCPay server but Zaps were not working. And why would you not use Cloudflare to hide your home IP address? 🤔

Zaps now work in btcpayserver. You can also do prisms (split payments) which is mind boggling. Cloudfare sure if you want to hiden IP, but comes at a cost of less simplicity.

Still can’t figure out the nginx reverse proxy part

You could technically skip the nginx reverse proxy and use a Cloudflare tunnel too.

thats seems like a lo. im using btcpayserver and cloudflare tunnels on my start9. i would prefer not to have a sub domain for payments, like i currently do for btcpay though. what advantage does the reverse proxy give/is it necessary?

Congrats!

Can you describe your setup?

I’ve been researching this today, a full sovereign node is out of the budget but there are still reasonable alternatives for lightning as far as I can tell

Have you a guide for linking your own domain to your own hosted relay?

I'm playing catch up here but moving quickly. So much to read!

I find asking for recommendations to guides/reading material yields good results rather then endlessly going over search results.
