for those looking to upgrade or get started with #grapheneos the absolute best private and secure mobile os. please note that would be remiss if i didn't mention the massive jump in device security with 8th gen pixels (pixel must be google unlocked, not just carrier unlocked):

8th generation Pixels also bring a massive upgrade to the CPU cores including one of the biggest hardware-based security features in the history of computing: hardware memory tagging. Stock OS doesn't use memory tagging in production yet, but GrapheneOS will be shipping it soon.

GrapheneOS will be making heavy use of the hardware memory tagging on the new ARMv9 cores in hardened_malloc. Going to be a massive improvement to exploit protections provided by GrapheneOS and will increase gap with stock Pixel OS even with their memory tagging dev option on.

Is it that much better than the pixel 7 Pro?

yes. that doesn't mean the 6 and 7 pros are not secure. they are far better than anything out there running a stock spyware os

I’ve had the 7 pro running GOS on it since April but only a month ago i switched to it full time. Although it does everything that my iPhone did, i find it much slower and frustrating. That may be quite possibly because im not a techie but trying to be one. The other issue is i need google maps for work and quite frankly even with location sharing it doesnt work very well. And frustrates the hell out of me.

i have not experienced this nor any issues with google maps so i don't know what to say. join the matrix group and keep at it. you're doing a good thing for your security and privacy 🤙🏻
