It would have to be online. But I would like a version that is offline and syncs.

You don't have to be connected to the Internet to listen to music.

you connect it to your PC to add new tracks, podcasts, audiobooks etc that were downloaded already for you and the device also moves cashu tokens it created to the PC to send out.

Who am I kids no one would manually sync their audio device to a computer.

I think you are underestimating how popular these ipods are among genZ. Check out used ipod prices on ebay. People want _offline_. The sync is not a issue -- being constantly connected is.
