I agree, but I think there’s also another contingent of people are aren’t, in the stupid or lazy camp.
Folks who have a ton of wealth and want to have it spread around for their heirs. Putting 1000 btc in cold storage is easier said then done. So maybe you put 800 in cold storage, 200 in custody. Maybe the heirs aren’t technical or don’t really get it yet. There are a lot of people coming to bitcoin. Not all are cold storage heroes like many of us.
It's a good point but I still don't see the need. In the case of inheritance, I particularly still prefer to trust someone close to me instead of a company, because the company's guidelines change over time, see swan.
