So is it normal to have one or not?
roughly 40 to 50% of people don’t have an internal monologue or inner voice. i think about it a lot.
Discussion
as someone who has it constantly, whether i’m about to do something or just doing nothing, i can’t even imagine what it’s like not to have one. but apparently, every second or third person is like that.
Is it the same amount as people who can’t visualize an apple?
Gemini AI says:
Estimates suggest that around 3% to 4% of people experience aphantasia, a condition where they have difficulty or are unable to form visual mental images, including the ability to "see" an apple in their mind's eye.
Ask it if these people have an inner dialogue
it seems reasonable, but still a very huge number of people.
My mental visual imagery is pretty poor. I think in words. Some people, especially artists tend to think more in images. It's fascinating how we're so differently wired. Some think in both some neither. I can't imaging neither where people essentially thinkin in general moods etc.
