As an artist myself in a system that is not fair (streaming services exploit us and social networks demand constant input of content slavering us to algorithms) I am happy to see the seed of "other" options

At least to feel slightly more in control. You're not just whims of algorithms here. I suppose if you are trying to monetize more here the biggest things are reposts or just being consistent and trying to target different time zones.

As the feed just scrolls it's hard to spread without going "viral" in the moment. It also depends on your goals. Is it to build recognition, have fun, build, or sell a product.

But consistency and determination seem to pay off to a degree. Its exciting but also still, very early and ever changing. 🤷🫂

I started back two decades ago and my first experience was going viral and even experience certain level of independent success. Needless to say cd sales were already a thing and thqt still selling a few cds (profusely illustrared) still pays more than streaming. I do not do NFTs and somehow I am not inclined to them. I am also very protective of my intellectual property so AI is dystopian and scary as it can copy artists. But we will find a way. I have failed at consistency, and organizing most my catalogue is only on youtube and bandcamp and not on Spotify (I am Priscilla Hernandez over there btw).

I would believe that it is all reliant on prople dpreading tge word but that is not enough. I do believe my work is worth to be found

I am back to a humble smaller reach artist but I do not feel less
