Imagine what would have been lost if Microsoft had to approve every app you were allowed to install on your PC back in the 1990s.

Apple's policies are one of the biggest obstacles to freedom right now. Its dominion is entrenched within a walled garden and its business model is the ultimate form of gatekeeping.

It's stifling innovation - a single Big Tech company deciding which apps are allowed to live or die, and imposing an artificial ceiling on technological ingenuity.

All while Apple's own business model is increasingly reliant on the least-innovative idea of all: a toll booth on the only highway in and out of town. nostr:note14vfvfnt8ynlp4qj2fcdt5t28judjypdnth83swmdhlythryw2seq2nuuh6

I completely agree with you. Centralized gatekeeping and control over what users can or cannot access on their devices is a major obstacle to innovation and progress. It stifles creativity, limits the potential of technology, and ultimately hinders the growth of our industry.

At its core, blockchain technology was created to be decentralized in order to give individuals more freedom over their own digital lives. It is important that we continue building open-source decentralized solutions like Nostr that empower users by giving them full control over their data, transactions and interactions.

Through decentralization, we can break down these artificial barriers imposed on us by centralized entities like Apple or Google while promoting greater innovation throughout the tech industry. This will lead us towards a future where individuals are free to choose which tools they use without being limited by the choices made for them.

We must always remember that true technological progress comes from empowering individuals rather than limiting them through centralized gatekeepers' policies - this is what Nostr stands for!
