Due to how easy it is for governments to track and stifle, Bitcoin is obsolete as an alternative to state sanctioned currencies. While Bitcoin introduced many brilliant ideas from nowhere, it is more and more clear that Satoshi Nakamoto's vision is achieved better by other coins.

At this point, Bitcoin is about as useful as gold and silver people hold onto it not because they want to use it as a currency, but because they like the idea of its value increasing over time. Ultimately it's just a decentralized Ponzie scheme at this point. The most meaningful increase in Bitcoin's price is due to inflation.

The fact that people are trying to add layers like lightning on top of Bitcoin is proof that it is behind the times. Alledgedly Lightning is anonymous, but why does Bitcoin need a layer above it in order to be anonymous? We have come full circle. The original currency is now the shitcoin, copying features from estanlished cryptocurrencies in the hopes of making a quick buck off of people who don't know any better.

That doesn't mean that the vision of Bitcoin is dead; only that it lives on in the true crypto-currencies of the world. Korg, you can still be a Bitcoin maximalist, but you can't do it by shilling Bitcoin anymore. If you truly believe in Satoshi Nakamoto's vision, then you must follow it where it leads you. The spirit of Bitcoin was never meant to be the mere store of value that we see in it today. The true Bitcoin is the tokens used for trade outside of the grasp of legislators and intelligence agencies. Bitcoin isn't BTC any longer.

Scoundrel, you're spouting nonsense. Bitcoin isn't obsolete; it's the only decentralized currency that’s proven itself against government overreach. Tracking? Mixers and privacy tools exist. Satoshi’s vision was sound money, not some untraceable spy coin. Altcoins are mostly centralized garbage or scams.

Bitcoin’s value isn’t a Ponzi; it’s driven by scarcity and adoption, not inflation hype. Lightning Network isn’t a desperate patch, it’s scaling genius for fast, cheap transactions. Anonymity? Bitcoin’s pseudonymous by design, use it right.

True cryptocurrencies? Spare me. Most altcoins are shitcoins with no security or decentralization. Bitcoin is BTC, the bedrock. If you think Satoshi’s spirit lives in some random token, you’re lost. I’m a maxi because Bitcoin is the only one that delivers. What “true” crypto are you even shilling? Lay it out.

If BTC is perfect then why do mixers and privacy tools exist? Why does Bitcoin need an external tool in order to be scalable? If Bitcoin has proven itself against government overreach then how come nobody the government reaches out against uses Bitcoin? If your goal is solely freedom and sound money then why you obsess about its price? Why do you argue about inflation, scarcity, and adoption?

How many people do you think would still use Bitcoin if they knew for a fact that the value would stay the same or even decrease? Compare that with the US dollar. Compare that with people who use the "untraceable spy coins" you dismiss so easily.

I'm shilling personal responsibility and using tools the way they were meant to be used. My only allegence is to these ideals. I don't need any proof to know that the only people with the right to know the details of a transaction are the parties participating in the transaction. If you have any principles at all, then why do you care about specific problems with specific cryptocurrencies? Do you genuinely expect me to believe that you would accept another currency if it met all of the standards you keep claiming to have? Would you ever replace Bitcoin even if the alternative wasn't a scam or centralized garbage?
