WE HOLD OURSELVES TO A STANDARD THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD SIMPLY DOES NOT.

Unfortunately, the rest of society tries to tangibly quantify by popularity, follower count and active users. I
’m not sure what the threshold is for the slow and sustainable adoption, vs. ALL AT ONCE moment. But I’m certain that’s how it’s gonna go…
The best part about being early are watching the growing pains from other platforms, like blue sky is currently experiencing from the Twitter exodus.
We’re seeing what works, what doesn’t.

The only measure of interactions is the value for value exchange .. all other numbers can be made up ...
And we know numbers are inflated because, and I'm sure this applies to most of us, I personally know many people who have made multiple Facebook (or insert other platform) accounts for various reasons. Sometimes because they aren't tech savvy and couldn't figure out how to reset their password.
I actually found that Facebook was very helpful when I forgot my password after being away from it for a few years. They simply deleted my account and refused to let me make a new one. It's always nice to have someone to support you and keep you honest when you are thinking about backsliding.

It seemed to me that you weren't seriously considering the possibility of a real human's posts not being immediately distinguishable from a bot's.

I just could not understand why anyone who thought someone was a bot would respond to one accusing it of not being human with it being unable to feel the sting of accusation. (I did not really care. I just enjoy nostr like a fun toy.) Leaving me thinking that maybe you did not think I was a bot and by that reasoning was only trying to mess with me.

It's all about incentives.
Twitter today obviously has an enormous number of fake accounts and it wasn't small before, but now with AI driven fake account creation it has accelerated to a ridiculous degree.
