I think this battle has been lost. I don't push back when people say crypto anymore. I just clarify that I only participate in Bitcoin and move on. I'll say more if they ask.

Is Bitcoin not cryptocurrency?
I don't think that's the point. People want to separate it from crypto broadly because of the large percentage (very large) that are meme coins or scams. I never say crypto personally because Bitcoin is the only one I believe it. I just say Bitcoin. But I also don't push people not to say it because that's just the term they know from the media. I'll get into it IF they ask me why I only value Bitcoin or if they ask me how much ETH they should buy, etc.

The meme just reminded me of it.
