Absolutely not. Absolute silence kicks in my anxiety, as it activates my instinctual danger response. If you've ever heard nature go quiet, it isn't generally good news. I don't generally have anxiety issues, but absolute silence will put me on edge instantly, the opposite of chilling the fuck out.

I hear ya my friend, I really do. Sounds in nature are absolutely fine, I love them but I do like my silence. As a mad juxtaposition though, when you said silence in nature is weird, it absolutely is. The only time I've ever encountered it is when I'm on top of a mountain (I'm from The UK) and do a bit of walking/trekking/climbing. Being outdoors and being in absolute silence, like when you're on top of a mountain, is a proper weird feeling, but I also like that too.
