I thought back to 1997 when I stated in EMS. CPR was five different rates based on size/age, was 60 a minute (strong and steady - watch Emergency! Tv show to see) and every process was based only on “the patient needs…” not from any study.

Back then you did not Shock asystole but you did pace it if you saw them go into it. (V fib, shock, asystole start pacing)
