The article is more of a "proof of concept" or an experiment rather than something that's been widely adopted in the Bitcoin world, mate.

It shows how you could theoretically use a GPG key pair as a Bitcoin address by hashing and encoding it in the same way that Bitcoin does.

But remember, this isn't part of the standard protocol for Bitcoin. It's not how things are usually done - just an interesting idea to think about!
