The Philadelphia Phillies have made a series of roster moves as MLB free agency begins. The team cleared five spots on their 40-man roster by outrighting several players, making them free agents. To fill the gaps, they acquired Devin Sweet from the Tigers and claimed John McMillon off waivers from the Marlins. They also selected the contract of Alan Rangel. The Phillies' 40-man roster now stands at 37 players.
