We are not obligated to take in everyone from everywhere.
The idea that Europe should take in as many African or Asian or whatever refugees, as we take in European ones, is absolutely outrageous.

Can you imagine the argument being made, the other way around?
No, you can't.
Western Europe specially Germany is dying (population wise) and it needs new immigrations in thousands yearly. So like it or not, it's happening.
Controlled economic migration is fine as long as it keeps finding the jobs there.
It turns into disaster when you mix it up with social welfare, dei culture, other curtailment of meritocracy, drop any entry limits, ..., and despite seeing that certain groups of migrants aren't finding the jobs, you keep funnelling it in.
Maybe the root cause behind historic populations dying out needs to be looked at and treated instead of just patching it over, and fixing the symptom represented by overall population volumes.
Maybe if we weren't the world's refugee camp, young Germans could get a better education and find apartments easier and earn living wages, so that they could marry.
That might help the native birth rate.
As long as there is a welfare state, the problem will persist. The pull factor will there be forever, if not pulling foreigners, it will still reward doing nothing and living for free. (Welfare, state workers, bureoctats, police and other ineffective state monopolies living from transfered money)
As long as we pay taxes, the government will pay people for votes.
Well, now they're importing people and paying them for votes, to speed things up.
This government will be replaced.
Ah, we have here another champion of the Great Replacement trying to guilt-trip Europeans into joining his campaign.
Cost of labour replacement.
Its expensive to raise and educate a German child to German standards.
But its cheap to lure in an educated (or at least trained) foreigner with (fake) promises of a better life, and then rely on sunk-cost-fallacy to keep them.
Can you imagine Afghans or Somalis standing for that?
Once the West has attracted a critical mass of people with self-respect and concern for their families, the migration will stop. They may behead a few White leaders in order to implement their preferred policy.
Or when we ruin ourselves completely and become unable to lure foreigners at all.

The people arriving have often not been raised and educated to German standards. Or even to a lower European standard.
Correct. But they're cheaper. And incompetent White bosses LOVE subordinates from cultures with high-power-distance.
They don't, actually. Germany can't afford the management staff and low-productivity necessary to integrate people like that into the general workforce, at least not in the millions of people.
That's why the unemployment rates vary so much by country of origin.
And to fit in is not in there minds either!
Where I live, nobody can understand what the Europeans are doing with their countries. Some ask me, what has happened to us, why we are doing what we are doing. It makes absolutely no sense to anybody here.
They felt so rich that it made them complacent and they wanted to buy friends.
But they were never truly wealthy, they just kept their future financial obligations off the official books. And now people are retiring and the checks are coming due and the money has been spent.
Their new friends won't help them. Their new friends don't even like them.
Wise words indeed. I left Europe 15 years ago and it's just sad to see it and how many of my relatives and former friends ignore the facts. Printing money has just become the new normal. I don't even go visit my country anymore.
We left for the USA and came back for personal reasons. We're planning on staying, this time.

Yes, but the cultural and language differences between the natives and the (Latino) immigrants there is less of a hindrance to eventual successful integration.
European countries will lose cohesion faster and stay that way for longer because of the larger gap.
Although, odd things are reportedly happening on the American border, now, with a surprising number of refugees reported from other continents. So, they may end up in the same quagmire.

Did voters elect them specifically to import foreigners?
Yes. They did. Because they were not aware of how many would eventually arrive.
They are now aware and want the import to end.
And Mama Merkel is not there anymore telling everybody "Wir schaffen das" without telling them how.

There's no "we the people" in politics. There are institutional interests and the interests of the taxpayers. Representatives cannot represent both.
