To add to this, I think Global should be broken up into Global (with relay filtering like you said) and “Discover” which just shows the most liked posts on our relays for that day.

This way, those that like to use Global to try to find interesting posts from different accounts don’t have to wade through all of Global, and can just use the Discover feature.

Isn't this already transforming to what twitter is now? Somehow we shall be careful.

But at least in nostr, you have different clients. So if you don't like how one client works, you can go find another one.

Twitter’s version of discover is highly algorithmic, I would want Discover for nostr to be strictly the most liked posts, no algorithms or recommendation engines.

Maybe I would add a filter button to show the currently active filters for global, so you can change if you want. So the decision is yours at the end.
