you can disable reactions on most clients and just go with the ZAP signal. I've used it for a long time but then reenabled reactions again. Too much content and engagement going on to zap every time. ☕ and 💜 for example have become kinda essential, for some.

why not default to the zap the other way then?
That's what I meant. Zaps only used to be my default setting for most of the year but you miss a lot of the engagement and you don't have to get zapped for every note. Sometimes a GM ☕ is good enough. Oc I can only speak for myself but yeah, the zap standard didn't work out. Maybe we're too early... as always.
