In the late 1990s, i was standing in front of a movie theater in downtown Seattle waiting for a friend. I was looking at a star wars poster with an image of one of these buildings from Tatooine.

Then i had one of those weird moments where i was suddenly very certain that in the near future old ways of building, combined with modern, independent, freedom preserving power, water and waste systems would become critically important.

It was out of the blue, and the impression was as clear as day.

Now, i am more convinced that ever that old world construction and technology combined with new tech, and micro homesteading is the way forward.

Of course, i didn’t choose the desert 🌵…
