Wow, you guys call scones biscuits 🀯

The other day I saw a video of an American guy saying he liked girls with those big baggy pants (forbidden pants he called them) and I thought, I have grandma pants πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ₯ΉπŸ«‚ finally, someone who’s into them.

I forgot you guys call trousers pants 😭 I will struggle when I eventually go to America πŸ₯Ή

These aren’t the same as scones. American-style biscuits are something else entirely.

I am always fascinated that you are such an ambassador for british english πŸ€“ I thought it would 'die out' because of all the US TV series & movies.

Nah πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ not an ambassador at all πŸ™πŸ½πŸ˜‚ I don’t mind what others use. Every country has their own words πŸ«‚no one is wrong (except American football) πŸ«‚πŸ’œ just funny when I realise I misunderstood

As a non-native speaker, there's always something I don't understand. 🀣 but I agree with football ⚽️

Same here πŸ˜‚πŸ«‚πŸ’œ that’s part of the fun of nostr I suppose, you learn something new every day here πŸ₯ΉπŸ«‚ oh totally πŸ’―πŸ˜‚πŸ«‚

American football is correct and I have the receipts to back it up.

Umm football is correct 🏈

You guys have futbol ⚽️

Thank you for setting the record straight.

If not us then who? If not now then when? Be the change you want to see in the world 🫑

Noo I refuse πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ the record is wonky at best

Mate, don’t make me challenge you to a duel over this, cos I will do it πŸ”₯πŸ‘€πŸ€£

Oii love you wanna duel innit? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜€

πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I mean this with a hug πŸ«‚πŸ˜‚

I don’t even know what that means, yall just making up words at this point πŸ˜‚

The irony of this πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚. You can’t come for plonker πŸ˜‚πŸ«‚ it’s my go-to word and I won’t av you messin with it.

It’s not bad though. It’s a nice friendly almost endearing way of calling someone silly here. My brothers call me plonker all the time πŸ«‚ also wally is another one. And doughnut. β€˜You right wally’.

πŸ˜‚ ok I’m done

Plonker

☺️

They are different. Scones are sweetened and/or flavored (chocolate chips, blueberry, orange-cranberry etc.)

Biscuits tend to be very dry and plain. We add butter and jelly, jam, or honey.

We also have savory scones, that’s what confuses me I suppose 🧐 dry and plain too

It’s hard out there πŸ˜‚ (coming from a baked goods connoisseur)
