What are the perceived dangers, that either were a threat, or were incorrectly deemed a threat, that you don’t currently see as a threat with raw farm milk?

The farmer was obliged to me the biggest risk is E. Coli. So miking hygiene is key.

I grew up on goats' milk as a young child, and I was also surrounded by dairy farms and cows, so it was incredibly easy to get raw milk, and no one really worried about the risks. Why wait for the milk to be sent away, just to come back again a couple of days later?

This is mainly for my young son, as he only drinks water or milk. Obviously I have weighed up the risks vs potential rewards. Finding out that a few of my neighbours have been getting their milk from the same farm for many years helps to reassure me, as well as having a good chat with the farner himself.

Gotcha. So sterilization at the milking and packaging points. And E Coli tests at the farm and stuff or on the product samples?

I can appreciate the benefits of the raw, and while seeking those we just don’t want to add the original risks back to the product. Milk from that bottle you showed feels warm and fuzzy. I wonder how the flavor of a bowl of cereal is changed. 🙂

You can't drink raw milk in Canada? Wtf lol.

Crazy, but raw milk is illegal in Canada, Australia and Scotland, and some states of the US:

What’s legal through animal consumption?

Meanwhile in The Netherlands as of 2025 they increased the amount of mandatory checkups a farmer needs to have if he wants to sell raw milk. Already heard about half of them stopped as it is no longer economically viable.

I'm sure they'll keep cranking it up until they're all gone and there is again more centralized control over the milk supply.
