Should I just… use Primal as my lightning wallet?

I have to figure this out too

You can.

But some see the fact that it uses Strike as a no-go since Strike is very KYC, however, I found all they asked for was my email address and zip code.

I personally use Coinos.

Short of self custody, I think there will pretty much always be kyc. I just want to ditch Coinbase. I mean primal can handle ln payments and can receive onchain

Oh God yes, Primal is still 1000% better than that. I'd never keep anything on exchanges.

I have a few. primal isn't my favorite. but, I like alternatives/backups, #oneisnone

What would you recommend?

it does't work right now...

Yes, all on the Primal application

Yeah works great

Depends on how much you keep there. Iirc it’s custodial, so I don’t keep much more than what I plan on zapping. Plus I have foundation for V4V audio.

I use Phoenix for my primary lighting wallet atm.

Yeah I’ve just been using it for zapping, keeping a couple 10ksat on there. I love the convenience of being able to use lighting on Coinbase but I really want to stop using them.

So I’m looking for a good ln wallet for whenever a vendor accept lightning (as rare as that is).

I’ll check out phoenix

I did mention Coinos. It's what I use for sending my jerky invoices, and I've used it to pay other lightning invoices with ease.

Do you use it on mobile?

Yes. It works great on the browser, it's built for mobile and desktop.

Just looked into it and yeah, wow, Coinos is legit!! Perhaps best bet is Coinos plus a place for self custody like Green Wallet or a badass onchain-only wallet like Nunchuk or Sparrow Wallet. Simple, easy to manage, interoperable between each other.

Phoenix not available in the us 😔

Breeze wallet is another good alternative.

That’s what I ended up doing

have you tried coinos? or self hosted Alby hub 😁

I’ve decided to use Breez
