Not sure, I’m still inclined to use something like Proton which is cloud based for easy access. Ironic but I’m still putting value in convenience.

Vaultwarden is super easy! Also kind of cloud based, but your cloud. I suggest you check start9 or umbrel. They are quite easy solutions to start your "cloud" game.

I used to agree. I find them too restrictive. I rather run Proxmox with VMs

They are! For starting, they are great. Takes the burden off your shoulder. Then you can realize if your needs are more nuanced then these, and slowly tend towards running linux servers.
