Replying to Avatar Dim

I think I made the same mistake last week installing Ubuntu server. Did I miss an option during install, or was I supposed to manually expand the logical volume after OS install? I manually expanded (lvm lvextend ...) the volume after my first attempt to sync filled all available space and froze.

yep, same here. ubuntu server has a section to do this when you're installing it. the default sets it to 100GB. you have to manually change this to the max. i haven't installed ubuntu server in a while and forgot it won't do this automatically for you. but yeah, it's just a simple extend and grow 😉
