I remember we had a conversation about your thousands of high quality gifs. Very nice. Do you have an automated process to upload them? Or you select them manually?
Also is this something where others can add to it? Or just for your collection? Do they have to be a certain quality?
The collection that I have comes from /r/HighQualityGifs that I've been basically curating as there are many reddit, or that subreddit specific gif meta. So, currently curating it one video at a time like a true ⭕️. This will be like a Mechanical Turk, but for mp4s/gifs in terms of tagging/classifying the videos. The upload process is automated, yes. The current collection is just some random stuff I posted. Just grabbed links from my posts and populated the db. Others adding is a strong possibility. High quality preferred, but I don't want to be the mp4/gif tsar. Also, trying to figure out a way to prevent vandalism, videos you tag shouldn't be messed by others with.
So anyone will be able to add links to videos? Do you have ways to filter spam/unwanted content?

Might have to introduce moderation to prevent that from happening. Enabling certain npubs to curate submission is my thinking.
What’s the login with nostr for? Is it for bookmarks or something similar?
If you give others power to upload, you’ll have to make sure to take down CSAM content. But if you only allow other users to post links to nostr build media, they already take down CSAM. So less maintenance for you. An aggregator would be very good for nostr shitposting.
I think the trickiest part will be to index them accurately for search. I have so many memes in my meme folder but no consistent way to search them. End up scrolling and kind of memorizing how far down I need to go. It’s a pain in the ass sometimes.
That's why I picked emojis for tagging videos. A picture's worth a thousand words! And it's kinda universal way to express feeling/reactions/emotions online anyways. You can either improve the categorization/tagging of the existing collection or just save to favorites for a quicker way to find them, but once it grows, you will still need a way to find what you are looking for faster.

Another idea I am entertaining is dumping the entire collection and not doing it alone, let other users categorize and label unwanted videos. But...which media server wants 43 GBs of data?! 😅
Yeah I think keep it light and just let others host the media. You just aggregate and organize it in a convenient way.
