My three favorite platforms are Bandcamp, substack, and primal.
In this substack article the number 1 call to action is:
Let’s create a music platform that looks like a cross between Substack, Bandcamp, and Spotify.
We got into this topic a bit in the recent v4vj roundtable.
This article is a bit frustrating because the independent web exists. People want it, but not really. Which is why primal is popular, why people don't run their own nodes (Bitcoin or nostr relay), and why bitcoinfluencers still shill advertisers.
But I do think he is correct that the future of digital music experience is more than just streaming (Spotify), more than just buying albums (Bandcamp), and more than content (substack).

Lnbeats embeds work so well! Yeah that article is a bit frustrating. He wants better reach of content, but also "good filtering."
It's crazy the different worlds on the Internet. And each one thinks they are right -- even here.
People don't realize how much the environment shapes them.
Don't make me say the McLuhan phrase :)
