yea i have like battery banks we keep charged and what not but i'm taking it as a learning experience

i have wanted something i can run my fridge and a few other small things off, that isn't just a regular generator

thinking more silent in case its more of a gov has collapsed and i dont want to make noise sort of solution

Solar is great for this but doesn't produce much power so you have to be a little selective. In a lot of RVs, especially the older ones, the fridge and water heater runs on propane, which takes a huge load off the solar system. Also 12v DC will be much more efficient than converting to AC, where possible.
