I believe that an open border policy is wrong and unfair for any country or community that polices itself. Disabling the bridge can prevent the content from coming over, but is there anything you can think of preventing the people themselves from coming over? Or preventing the people already here from producing similar content themselves? Is there anything Nostr does to police its users? Do you think it's likely that would ever be needed?

Shoot, even if Alex stops, is there anything that could be done to stop someone else from just restarting the bridge? I myself would be quite proud to run a similar bridge to Alex's, except I can promise you that I would federate with every single instance I could. Perhaps you should be thankful that you only have Alex to worry about.

You know, I love your style and I love your passion, especially when it comes to hating pedophiles. But your goal of keeping pedophiles away from Nostr makes it sound more like you are afraid to insult them to their face. Can you see a fediverse bridge as being an opportunity to insult pedophiles in a more direct and personal way?

You say that Nostr should survive and thrive on its own merits, and that it can do so without the fediverse. I agree with this completely. In fact, I never for a moment considered making an ActivityPub account, even before I found out about Nostr. Neither did I consider making an account on Twitter, Bluesky, or Threads. The content on Nostr could be far, far worse than it is today and I would still choose to stay.

You ask me "if people just keep using the same old shitty platforms on the Fediverse then what motivation would they have to go all in on Nostr?" And yet you insist that Nostr would be able to stand on its own even without content from the fediverse. I'm very interested to hear, can you say what merits are you are talking about exactly?
